Taylor Whitley Show Up Foundation
The Taylor Whitley Show Up Foundation was started to award grants and scholarships to high school and college students who exemplify “SHOWING UP.” Showing Up is the extraordinary act of making a difference in someone else’s life by valuing them more than yourself.
USA DeBusk is proud to support the work of this worthy foundation, serving as lead sponsor for an annual fundraising golf tournament. Many USA DeBusk employees participate and assist as organizing volunteers for the event.
The foundation was created to honor the memory of Taylor Whitley, a dear friend and member of the USA DeBusk team, who passed away unexpectedly from cardiovascular disease in 2018.
2020 Show Up Foundation Golf Tournament
Scholarship Recipient Jayden Balderas
A special award presentation was made during this year’s Show Up Foundation Golf Tournament. Jayden Balderas, daughter of USA DeBusk employee Lou Balderas, received a generous scholarship toward her college education.
Jayden is the Salutatorian of her high school class and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average—all while working almost full time and taking college classes.
Jayden plans to continue her studies at Texas A&M University, which is especially fitting since Taylor Whitley and his wife Shannon both graduated from Texas A&M and Taylor was a standout member of the Aggie football team.
While at Aggieland, Jayden will study to become a veterinarian and serve an internship at a vet clinic.
The Taylor Whitley Show Up Foundation and USA DeBusk congratulate Jayden on her impressive accomplishments.
Marathon Petroleum / United Way
Marathon Petroleum is a longtime corporate-wide sponsor of the United Way and its many programs to improve the lives of people in communities throughout the country.
USA DeBusk is an enthusiastic supporter of their efforts through contributions and participation in multiple fundraising golf tournaments in various cities each year.
The Valero Texas Open is a PGA TOUR event that has been played since 1922 in San Antonio, TX.
Since Valero became title sponsor in 2002, the tournament has become a leader in charitable fundraising among PGA TOUR events.
The Valero Texas Open, together with its Benefit for Children and Champions fore Charity initiatives, has contributed more than $171 million to hundreds of worthy charities since inception while producing over $60 million of annual economic impact.
USA DeBusk is pleased to be a contributing sponsor of this tournament.
